Great article, I speak Bahasa Malaysia and Tagalog (out of practice though) and am learning Paiwan, an aboriginal language from Southern Taiwan. Tagalog "adjectives" function more like nouns. A "small book" in Tagalog translates to something like, "a small thing which (is) a book". I'm working with Pama-Nyungan languages as well as part of a language revival project, and those languages have no real adjectives too.
